Annie B. Crockett-Stark has been the elected delegate for the 6th District of Virginia since 2005. She is a very nice lady and can be rather entertaining when relating her many life-stories to her captive audience. What she isn’t is an effective delegate to represent the fine citizens of her 6th District.
Although a member of the majority Republican Party she has failed to be a major influence in introducing and passing any meaningful legislation that benefits her entire 6th District. One only has to visit the web site of the Virginia Foundation for Research and Economic Education, Virginia FREE, (www.vafree.com) to learn more about her ineffectiveness.
Virginia FREE performs various ratings for each elected state legislator and posts the results on their web site. "The Effectiveness rating is the result of an annual survey of Virginia FREE member governmental affairs professionals to determine, in their informed opinions, how effective each legislator is in accomplishing his or her objectives in the legislature - without regard to the legislator's position on business issues." In 2010, Virginia FREE gave Rep. Anne B. 'Annie B.' Crockett-Stark a rating of 51 out of a possible 100. This means 108 legislators are ranked higher in their effectiveness than Anne B.
This came as no surprise to me because results speak louder than spoken or written words. That is the problem with Anne B. in that she doesn’t get results. Her near 5-year stint as our elected delegate from the 6th District has been dull and without meaningful results.
I made an appointment to speak with Anne. B in 2009. During the time she allotted for me to reveal my concerns and suggestions she spoke incessantly about her life prior to and after being elected as our delegate from the 6th District. Finally, after listening to her for close to two hours, I once again attempted to bring the discussion around to my reasons for meeting with her. She allowed me less than 30 minutes and then somewhat rudely informed me that she was out of time and needed to leave her office for another appointment.
It isn’t too early to consider someone as a viable replacement for Anne B. during the next election for her position in 2011. She must go and take with her all of the useless dialogue that spurts from her rapid fire vocalization. I, for one, have informed the Virginia Republican Party that I will not donate another dollar until they find a better candidate for her elected position as our 6th District Delegate.
This isn’t personal Anne. B. it’s only about business, only about what is best for the 6th District, and only about selecting a better and more effective candidate to better represent our needs.
